If you need assistance. If you are a wheelchair user, have visual or hearing impairments or require a relaxed performance, The Apollo Victoria Theatre is committed to making booking easy for Wicked.

The theatre’s main entrance is on Wilton Road opposite Victoria mainline and Underground Station and is up four steps to the main foyer. From the foyer there are three flights of steps to the Stalls.

There is a total of 29 steps down the three flights with 7 steps to the first landing, 16 steps to the second landing then six more steps in to the Stalls. Once in the stalls all seats are accessible via a gentle ramp.

The Circle is reached from the main foyer, up a flight of 13 steps. From here there is 14 steps to row A. Customers with mobility requirements are advised to sit in Circle areas as this has the least number of steps.

There is an in-house wheelchair that can be borrowed for the duration of the performance, but this must be reserved when booking tickets if you think this will be useful in your visit to the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

For wheelchair users, the wheelchair entrance is via a platform lift on the Vauxhall Bridge Road entrance to The Apollo Victoria Theatre, this will provide level access to the Accessible Toilets and foyer facilities.

The platform lift is suitable for wheelchairs that do not exceeding the following maximum weight and dimensions: 29” (74cm) wide x 33.5” (85cm) long and not exceeding an overall weight of 31 stone (200kg).

Bar and merchandise counters are not low level, but, drinks, snacks and merchandise orders can be taken at seats and brought over by staff. Advise staff or ring the assistance bell for help with your orders.

The Apollo Victoria Theatre has 4 wheelchair spaces available in the Circle, which is one level up in the auditorium. It is recommended to book spaces well in advance due to a high demand for these spaces.

Row F in the Dress Circle is available for people who want to transfer from a wheelchair into a seat, seats other than in row F for anyone who can manage steps would require additional steps but have no handrail.

The Apollo Victoria auditorium has Sennheiser MobileConnect WiFi sound amplification system. The Sennheiser MobileConnect uses WiFi to deliver superior quality audio to a device such as an iPod or iPhone.

The device connects either through headphones or via a necklace for hearing aid users. Sound levels can be adjusted on your device and theatre staff will be happy to assist if anyone needs help connecting.

Patrons are advised to book Stalls A-P for the best signal. Devices can be pre-booked in advance via the box office, borrowed on the day, or download the Sennheiser MobileConnect app on your chosen device.

The Apollo Victoria Theatre schedules Sign Language Interpreted and Captioned performances. Sign Language Interpreted performances do consist of a signer who is relaying music and words from the show live.

Captioned performances are also available for Wicked The Musical and these convert the spoken word (as well as any other noises and sound effects) into text, which is displayed visually on a caption unit.

Guide dogs are welcome at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, they can either be cared for during the show by a member of staff or can be taken into the auditorium but please inform the Box Office at the time of booking.

The Apollo Victoria Theatre currently has a limited stock of large print and Braille programmes and you can request any of these at the time of booking if you would like a copy for your visit to Wicked The Musical.

The Apollo Victoria Theatre schedules Audio Described performances. Audio description is a live verbal commentary on visual elements and stage directions of a production, delivered via a small discreet headset.

One week before the show, theatre patrons who have pre-booked will receive a recording with detailed information about the show, as well as directions to the theatre and a general orientation of the building.

The theatre can often be a crowded and scary place to be for patrons with Autism or with Sensory and Communication Difficulties. To help prepare for your visit, The Apollo Victoria Theatre has a ‘Visual Story’.

The Visual Story can be sent to you and will describe your visit to the theatre in detail; from the minute you step off the tube, to leaving the venue at the end of your visit to make you feel the most comfortable.

Please inform the Box Office at the time of booking if you would like to receive a copy. Ear defenders are also available to loan for the duration of any performance of Wicked and are available from the Cloakroom.
